FAQ

Fair questions.

The things people actually ask before they prop up their phone for the first time, answered plainly.

A phone propped on the floor at home, mid-assessment
Privacy
What does Flexa do with my camera footage?

It is used for one thing: measuring how you move, in two different ways. Your four posture photos become joint positions and angles, essentially geometry. Your six guided movements are read by the Neural Code, which classifies how you move into one of eight movement patterns. Together that is what builds and adapts your program. We never share your footage, and full processing and retention details are in our privacy policy.

We are also engineering toward fully on-device processing, our "Privacy Airlock" architecture. That work is in development and is not how the app runs today.

Who can see my results?

You, and the Flexa team supporting you. If you join through an employer program, your employer sees only group-level numbers: sign-up, active use, aggregate progress. Never your individual responses.

Equipment and setup
What equipment do I need?

None. Flexa is camera-only: a smartphone propped against a wall, a chair or a stand is the entire setup. No wearables, no sensors, no hardware to buy. Some exercises use everyday things: a wall, a chair, a pillow. The app tells you when.

Do I need a lot of space, or special clothes?

A patch of floor big enough to lie down on is plenty. Wear whatever you can move in, scrubs included. The camera needs to see your whole body during assessments, so a few feet of distance from the phone helps.

Time and cost
How long does it take?

Your first assessment, four posture photos plus six guided movements, takes about five minutes. After that, daily sessions run 5 to 10 minutes, whenever they fit: before a shift, after one, or at 3 am between them.

What does Flexa cost?

Flexa is $15.99 a month, or $129 a year — the camera assessment, your daily program, and the AI coach in chat around the clock. There is a free assessment before you pay anything.

If you join through an employer program, your sponsor covers it.

What if I miss days?

Life happens, and the program flexes with it. Flexa adjusts to where you actually are rather than punishing you for where you were not. Consistency over weeks matters more than any single day.

Who it's for
Who is Flexa for?

People whose bodies work hard: nurses and shift workers on their feet twelve hours at a time, desk workers folded into chairs, and anyone who wants to move better without adding appointments to the week. Flexa meets you wherever your assessment finds you.

Is Flexa a medical device? Does it diagnose or treat anything?

No. Flexa is a wellness product. It assesses how you move, builds a personalized movement program, and coaches you through it. It does not diagnose, treat or cure any medical condition.

If you are in severe pain, have numbness or weakness, or have any red-flag symptom, see a clinician in person first.

Is there a person behind the app?

The AI coach handles day-to-day guidance in chat, around the clock, on every plan. One-to-one video sessions with the care team come with employer-sponsored and Medicare programs, which include an annual allotment of them — real specialists who review your progress, adjust your program and answer the questions that need judgment. Those sessions are not part of the self-pay plan today.

Where do the research numbers on this site come from?

From published research on the underlying movement method, not from the app. The full breakdown, including the 2022 JAMA randomized trial and what we do and do not claim, is on the What we measure page.

Still curious?

The app answers the rest.

Download Flexa and take your first assessment. It takes about five minutes.
